Wake the Desert is Texas longest running Wakeboarding Tournament. The tournament began at Big Spring’s Moss Creek. Soon after, the organizers realized that the constant level and convenient facilities at San Angelo’s Lake Nasworthy was the perfect venue. Beginning as a Wakeboarding Event, the Tournament has grown to include the sports of Wakeskating and Wakesurfing. Currently, the event draws around 150 athletes and up to 1500 spectators. Athletes have come from as far away as California and Florida to compete in the event.
